My niece <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kalynskitchen.com\/2015\/01\/meet-kara-and-things-im-thinking-about.html\">Kara<\/a> and I tested these muffins quite a few times to perfect this recipe that&#8217;s a combination of ingredients from other muffins that we&#8217;ve enjoyed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kara and I both thought these low-carb savory muffins tasted a bit like garlic bread, so they would be perfect to serve with soup for dinner. But I&#8217;m loving these muffins for a quick breakfast option too. And I&#8217;m pretty sure everyone who likes the idea of a savory high fiber breakfast muffin is going to enjoy this recipe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I like to make a batch of these muffins, freeze in a Ziploc bag, and then take one out and reheat in the microwave for one minute. And I do love to eat them spread with a little butter, but that&#8217;s up to you. And the muffins contain a generous amount of Parmesan cheese and eggs, which doesn&#8217;t add many carbs. The total carb count comes in at 3.8 net carbs per muffin after you subtract the 5 grams of fiber!<\/p>\n<h2>How much protein is in the low-carb savory muffins?<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The other good news about these muffins is that using cottage cheese doesn&#8217;t add many carbs but adds protein so that each muffin has 14 grams of protein!<\/p>\n<h2>Can you make the low-carb savory muffins without Spike Seasoning?<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It&#8217;s no secret I&#8217;m a huge fan of <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2PyFkCq\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Spike Seasoning<\/a> (affiliate link) and I love the savory flavor it adds to these muffins. Then mix well with a large spoon.<\/li>\n<li>Beat eggs until they&#8217;re well combined and slice the green onions.<\/li>\n<li>Mix the drained cottage cheese and green onion into the beaten eggs.<\/li>\n<li>Then combine the egg mixture with the dry ingredients.<\/li>\n<li>Divide the batter into the 12 muffins cups.
