And when I buy ham for a holiday meal I&#8217;m always happy to have leftover ham to make this!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I love to eat this deviled ham stuffed inside <a href=\"https:\/\/kalynskitchen.com\/why-i-love-josephs-bakery-low-carb-pita-bread\/\">low-carb pita bread<\/a> for a quick and easy lunch. And I enjoy these pita sandwiches made with deviled ham so much that I find myself doubling the recipe to make this with ham steaks from Costco, even when I don&#8217;t have leftover ham.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Through the years I also started adding chopped onion or green onion, finely chopped celery, and just a little fresh-squeezed lemon juice to the recipe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">And I bet today many people have leftover ham from Easter, so I&#8217;m hoping you make some deviled ham! This post also has four delicious low-carb options for using deviled ham. But if you&#8217;re keeping it in the fridge for a few days, I&#8217;ve found the chopped fresh onion makes the onion flavor intensify the longer it&#8217;s stored. So if you make the whole recipe from a pound of leftover ham, I recommend using thinly-sliced green onion.<\/p>\n<h2>What if you don&#8217;t have a pound of leftover ham to make deviled ham spread?<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The deviled ham recipe can easily be cut in half if you don&#8217;t have that much ham. You can find those measurements to make half as much in the complete recipe, after the instructions.<\/p>\n<h2>How spicy is the deviled ham recipe?<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There are a few spicy ingredients in this recipe like horseradish, Green Tabasco Sauce, and Dijon Mustard. You can also get one pound of thick-sliced ham from the deli.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>I trimmed off the rind and then cut the ham into small cubes, and added them to the food processor.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">I pulsed the ham in the food processor just a few times for smallish chunks of ham.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">I add finely chopped celery and onion or green onion for a slight crunch. (If you&#8217;re storing the deviled ham in the fridge, I recommend green onion. The raw onion will get stronger the longer the ham is stored.)<\/li>\n<li>Remove ham from food processor and add to a bowl. Add all the other ingredients and mix together.<\/li>\n<li>You can&nbsp; also combine all the ingredients in the food processor if you&#8217;re careful not to process too much. I like the finished mixture to stay slightly chunky so I prefer using a bowl.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The finished Deviled Ham Spread won&#8217;t win any beauty contests, but it does taste great. I store it in the fridge in a snap-tight container and enjoy eating it for days! I cut the pita in half, separate the two halves, and toast it for a minute or so before stuffing it.<\/li>\n<li>We loved the idea of using this stuffed inside cucumber slices for a deviled ham appetizer.
