They used to be a controversial ingredient, but newer harvesting methods don\u2019t damage the trees and wild palms are protected now in many places. And Hearts of Palm are so delicious! Here\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Heart_of_palm\">more about Hearts of Palm<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foodandwine.com\/cooking-techniques\/what-exactly-are-hearts-palm-and-how-should-you-use-them\">how to use them<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>What gives the Lemony Shrimp Salad extra shrimp flavor?<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For this recipe I use my technique of catching the shrimp &#8220;juice&#8221; that drains off the thawed frozen shrimp and adding it to the dressing. Some of that juice will be added to the dressing, which is a trick I borrowed from Shrimp and Macaroni Salad.<\/li>\n<li>Whisk together lemon juice, shrimp juice, olive oil, dried oregano, <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2zpteBJ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">dried dill weed<\/a> (affiliate link), <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2hQnsiS\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Beau Monde Seasoning<\/a> (affiliate link), and black pepper to make the dressing.<\/li>\n<li>Crumble about 2\/3 cup Feta Cheese, or a little more if you&#8217;re a big Feta fan! Diagonally slice the green onions.<\/li>\n<li>Put the hearts of palm, shrimp, and green onion in a bowl and toss with desired amount of dressing.<\/li>\n<li>Then gently mix in the diced avocado and feta, season to taste with salt and fresh ground black pepper, and serve.
