What you are describing sounds like Sriracha Sauce. That’s slightly different but it will probably work in this recipe. I might start with a smaller amount and taste, then add more if you want it!

Maybe start with 1/3 cup and taste after it cooks a bit. You can always add a bit more later if you’d like it to be sweeter.

If using brown sugar instead of monkfruit, how much do you recommend using for the brown sugar? Thank you!

At first, when I read “turkey stew” I pictured a turkey leg with traditional seasonings, white potatoes, etc. This (I’m calling it soup), however, is not anywhere near that and is exceptional imo!! I added more Siracha resulting in a nice little heat. Delicious!!!

So glad you have been enjoying it. I love hearing how you switch it up. That’s how I cook for myself too (when I don’t have to write it down for the blog!)

I discovered it by accident several years ago (I was looking for something else entirely), and it has become my annual “fall is here” stew. I’ve made so many random substitutions- changed the meat, added beans/veggies, acorn or butternut squash for the potatoes, even cooked it on the stove instead of slow cooker. And every single time it’s just so good. The base flavors are just that good. Thank you so much

So glad you are enjoying the recipe. I don’t know what to suggest on the cooking time, but they do have programmable crock-pots that cook for a set amount of time and then keep the food warm.

The flavors are delightful and my husband and I add a little more of the yummy chili sauce before eating to individual spice preference. My only wish is that it took longer to cook so I could prep it in the morning before work and it would be ready when we came home.
